Nikko

“Nikko”

I read an article about Nikko. It reminds me of the Japanese beautiful scenery and interesting history. Nikko is a most popular place for sightseeing among elders in Japan. Even in the case of youths, many students go there on school trips. Ieyasu Tokugawa was a great figure who finished the wartime in the medieval era and united the whole nation. He was not only a clever warrior but also a smart politician that he could negotiate well with his enemies and conquer them without wars. He might observe his preceding persons of power, such as Nobunaga Oda, and Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and learn from them a lot of things about how to govern the Japan firmly. The governmental system that he had made survived almost 200 years, leading to the fundamental setting for the Japanese modern government, the Meiji Government. Through the Tokugawa era, the government closed the country at some level and permitted the religion of Buddhism and Shinto, bringing about the stable society. In Nikko, you can see the interesting infusion among traditional classicism, Buddhism, and Shinto.
