Judith with Head of Horofernes

"Judith with Head of Horofernes"

A painting that impresses me is "Judith with Head of Horofernes." At first, I confused the Judith with Salome. After searching by website, I knew that Judith was a widow, who protected her country from being destroyed by an Assyria general, Horofernes, and Salome was a dangerous female, who killed John the Baptist. Although the two commonly seduced one man and decapitated him, but the former was a brave patriot and the latter was an evil girl. It is so complicated for me. While I first knew Salome from the painting by Klimt and the play by Wilde, the Judith was not so popular in Japan. I guess that most men don't want to meet females like Salome, but may like to watch them in paintings or movies.
